The Kita! Podcast

The KITA! Podcast is an arts-anthology show about the stories we tell each other.
Each episode features the work of several Malaysian artists or creative practitioners. From poetry and short fiction to more experimental forms of storytelling like found audio and non-fiction accounts, KITA! crosses the boundaries of genre as we showcase a wide range of audio-based storytelling material.

Starting with an open call for submissions and personally approaching Malaysia’s most exciting creative voices, the KITA! Team invites these artists to read and perform their work in a professional studio, hiring voice actors if necessary. These recordings are then produced, scored, and arranged by our team of curators, sound engineers, and in-house composer, before being published online.

Taking its name from the Malay word ‘kita’, the inclusive form of ‘we’, KITA! believes that good art should be convenient, affordable, and open to everyone. It is freely available on-demand from Spotify, iTunes, Google Podcasts, and other major streaming platforms.

Our first season launches in mid-October on Renegade Radio, an independent Malaysian podcasting network with an eye and ear for passionate, driven creative. We hope to expand the local audio-arts scene and provide a platform for Malaysian voices to be heard.
