• Currently the associate professor at the Department of Taiwanese Languages and Literature of the National Taichung University of Education, associate professor of the Department of Taiwanese Literature, Providence University, he is also associate professor at the Graduate Institute of Taiwan Literature and Transnational Cultural Studies of the National Chung Hsing University

Taiwanese Folklore And Culture

Folklore is the lore of the common people, denoting the mores and ways of life that a society adheres to and upholds, this includes rites, festivals, religious beliefs, and more.

Taiwan is a modern society formed under the influence of Chinese migrants; the story of their settlement in Taiwan is one of struggles – racial disputes, riots, and natural disasters. Taiwanese culture is developed under these circumstances, forming cultural phenomena specific to Taiwan, such as that of the sea culture, the mixing and creolization of cultures, and more.
